Tallow is a natural byproduct of the meat industry, making it a sustainable ingredient. It reduces agricultural waste and reliance on resource-intensive crops. Tallow requires minimal processing while having a very high nutrient content. It's also biodegradable and has a lower environmental footprint than many industrial seed oils and plant-based alternatives.
Our ethically sourced Emu Oil comes from free-range birds left to roam large fields containing a variety of native Australian flora and fauna that mimics the animal’s natural habitat. There is also little to no need for land clearing for farmland. What makes this ingredient even more sustainable is that trees are also planted to provide the right environment for this species to thrive.

How it all began...
Welcome to YULA, where skincare meets kitchen escapades! Founded by two best friends, Laya & Yuko, health enthusiasts with over 20 years of chasing wellness down rabit holes, YULA started in a somewhat unexpected & unconventional way. It began with Laya seeking alternative remedies for easing her rheumatoid arthritis. They both dove into the carnivore diet where they learned about traditional diets and health practices. They both noticed their health gradually improving in unexpected ways.
One day, while rendering a batch of tallow, in their kitchen lab, a eureka moment strikes Laya. Why not mix some magnesium oil in with some of this buttery goodness, throw in some Arnica oil, and a dash of Lavendar, for good measure? Voila! A balm was born that not only soothed her joints, but sent Yuko into the deepest slumber.

But why stop there? Laya, an ever curious cat, stumbled across an article on the magic of Emu Oil for health, particularly joint and skin health. She thought, 'why not try it in the magnesium balm?' Well, it turned the cream into a silky dream, while also enhancing its effectiveness. Before long, Yuko was slathering the concoction onto her kid's feet before bedtime, turning them into little sleeping angels, and soon, more people wanted a piece of this magic. Friends and colleagues were all in on the action, leading us to whip up more jars. This eventually led us into developing our two other beloved products - the Revitalizing Face Cream & the Soothing Nudie Balm, all born from the same spirit of fun, love, laughter, and a touch of kitchen alchemy.
